Chaque syst\u00e8me pr\u00e9sente des avantages et des inconv\u00e9nients qu&rsquo;il vous faudra \u00e9valuer en fonction de votre projet. En effet, si vous \u00eates partisan de l&rsquo;ultra r\u00e9alisme, d&rsquo;une \u00e9poque ou d&rsquo;un r\u00e9seau particulier, votre choix portera sur un type de voie qui satisfera \u00e0 ces crit\u00e8res. Si en revanche, vous souhaitez faire circuler tout type de mat\u00e9riel, y compris ancien, vous devrez probablement faire un autre choix. Ainsi, le code 100 correspond \u00e0 une hauteur de 2.54 mm, le code 83 correspond \u00e0 une hauteur de 2.11 mm et le code 75 \u00e0 une hauteur de 1.9 mm.<\/p><p>Ces productions ne sont donc pas le fruit du hasard. Si vous vous plongez plus avant dans la norme NEM 120, vous constaterez que d&rsquo;autres codes existent. Nous n&rsquo;avons en effet pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 que quelques cas relatifs \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle HO mais cette norme s&rsquo;applique aussi aux autres \u00e9chelles. Vous constaterez aussi que la cote A est donn\u00e9e avec une tol\u00e9rance (nos mesures montrent d&rsquo;ailleurs que c&rsquo;est souvent le haut de la tol\u00e9rance qui est utilis\u00e9e&#8230;) et que les cotes B et C sont indicatives, ce qui explique les grosses diff\u00e9rences que nous avons mesur\u00e9es sur ces cotes. Nous venons d&rsquo;\u00e9voquer la normalisation en mati\u00e8re de profil de rail, nous allons \u00e9voquer un peu plus loin la normalisation en mati\u00e8re de profil de roue mais la normalisation touche de vastes domaines du mod\u00e9lisme ferroviaire tels que l&rsquo;entraxe entre voies, les gabarits de passages, la cat\u00e9naire, etc. Ces normes ont diff\u00e9rentes vertus : poser des bases communes et permettre la compatibilit\u00e9 entre diff\u00e9rents syst\u00e8mes notamment, m\u00eame si certains points n&rsquo;ont pas pu encore faire l&rsquo;objet d&rsquo;une normalisation. Notez enfin que ces normes sont celles ayant cours en Europe. D&rsquo;autres syst\u00e8mes de normalisation existent, par exemple aux Etats-Unis. Le code (100, 83, 75, etc.) issu des normes NEM est une information suppl\u00e9mentaire importante mais il peut y avoir des ajustements \u00e0 faire pour des voies au m\u00eame code provenant de plusieurs industriels ou artisans. Le profil des roues de votre mat\u00e9riel est aussi un \u00e9l\u00e9ment important pour garantir la bonne circulation de vos trains sur les voies.<\/p><p>Au del\u00e0 du profil de rails, le travelage, les traverses, les attaches de rails sont autant d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ments \u00e0 consid\u00e9rer au moment de choisir son syst\u00e8me de rails.<\/p><p>Les voies standards sont relativement \u00e9loign\u00e9es de l&rsquo;aspect des voies SNCF et il convient de travailler sur leur environnement (ballast, patine, etc.) pour fondre ces d\u00e9fauts dans un ensemble cr\u00e9dible.
