En effet, beaucoup d&rsquo;installations ferroviaires (il suffit de regarder la gare de Limoges ou la gare de l&rsquo;Est pour \u00e9voquer ces deux exemples embl\u00e9matiques parmi tant d&rsquo;autres) vont garder les caract\u00e9ristiques de leurs origines. Ces origines sont celles des r\u00e9seaux desquels la SNCF est issue ; en effet, elle ne fut cr\u00e9\u00e9e qu&rsquo;au 1er janvier 1938 mais le chemin de fer \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 florissant depuis plusieurs d\u00e9cennies au sein de diverses compagnies priv\u00e9es. Chacune de ces compagnies a ainsi d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 son r\u00e9seau, la plupart du temps ind\u00e9pendamment des autres, ce qui a conduit \u00e0 de forts particularismes locaux. Ainsi, mat\u00e9riel roulant, installations ferroviaires, architecture des b\u00e2timents pr\u00e9sentent des caract\u00e9ristiques propres \u00e0 ces compagnies originelles, caract\u00e9ristiques qui ont perdur\u00e9 au fil du temps.<\/p><p>Nous allons ainsi dans cet article donner quelques \u00e9l\u00e9ments historiques sur le chemin de fer dans le sud-ouest et rechercher si possible les principaux \u00e9l\u00e9ments techniques n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 notre projet : voie, appareils de voies, installations ferroviaires, caract\u00e9ristiques des b\u00e2timents, etc. Comme nous l&rsquo;avons indiqu\u00e9 par ailleurs, notre projet s&rsquo;accordera une certaine souplesse d&rsquo;interpr\u00e9tation mais cela n&#8217;emp\u00eache pas une \u00e9tude pr\u00e9alable fouill\u00e9e.\u00a0<\/p><p>Cette \u00e9tude a aucune pr\u00e9tention \u00e0 l&rsquo;exhaustivit\u00e9 ou \u00e0 l&rsquo;exemplarit\u00e9 mais est d\u00e9j\u00e0 tr\u00e8s fournie. Elle constitue un premier d\u00e9grossissage pour ceux qui voudraient d\u00e9velopper un projet de m\u00eame nature et au del\u00e0, fournit des \u00e9l\u00e9ments de m\u00e9thode pour tout autre projet comparable dans une autre r\u00e9gion ou une autre Deux compagnies se sont en fait partag\u00e9es le territoire en question jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de la SNCF au 1er janvier 1938. Ces deux compagnies fusionneront en 1934 juste avant la nationalisation du r\u00e9seau.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>La compagnie du PO (Paris Orl\u00e9ans) occupait la nord de la Garonne avec comme limite \u00ab\u00a0ouest\u00a0\u00bb grosso modo l&rsquo;axe Bordeaux &#8211; Paris (avec une petite incursion au sud de la Bretagne) et comme limite \u00ab\u00a0est\u00a0\u00bb l&rsquo;axe Toulouse &#8211; Clermont-Ferrand &#8211; Notre projet de d\u00e9part consistait \u00e0 faire des recherches relatives aux d\u00e9p\u00f4ts autorails sur le p\u00e9rim\u00e8tre de l&rsquo;ancienne compagnie du Midi, au sud de la Garonne pour faire simple.\u00a0 En avan\u00e7ant dans nos investigations, nous nous sommes int\u00e9ress\u00e9s aux cas particuliers des gares situ\u00e9es sur la fronti\u00e8re entre l&rsquo;ancienne compagnie du PO et l&rsquo;ancienne compagnie du Midi, c&rsquo;est \u00e0 dire les gares situ\u00e9es sur le cours de la Garonne entre Bordeaux et Toulouse. Page 175 du livre d&rsquo;Olivier Constant sur les d\u00e9p\u00f4ts autorails de la SNCF, on apprend que c&rsquo;est une rotonde de 15 voies qui servait au d\u00e9p\u00f4t des autorails jusqu&rsquo;au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 70. Prises durant les ann\u00e9es 60, on peut remarquer qu&rsquo;aucun autorail n&rsquo;est visible sur ces deux photos. Et pour cause : Montauban \u00e9tait un petit d\u00e9p\u00f4t qui n&rsquo;a accueilli que des FNC durant quelques ann\u00e9es au tournant des ann\u00e9es 40 et 50 (et des VH pendant quelques mois). Il est possible qu&rsquo;ils comportent des manques et des erreurs ; nous vous remercions de bien vouloir nous les indiquer. Ces tableaux offrent aussi une vision de l&rsquo;histoire de la SNCF, notamment de la p\u00e9riode de rationalisation \u00e0 partir des ann\u00e9es 50. Ainsi, \u00e0 compter du X3800, les seuls d\u00e9p\u00f4ts de Toulouse et de Bordeaux demeurent. D&rsquo;autre part, les livraisons comme les radiations se sont \u00e9tal\u00e9es sur plusieurs ann\u00e9es. Les Michelines, les autorails \u00ab\u00a0standard\u00a0\u00bb, les Pauline, les VH, les ADP et ADX2 sont concern\u00e9s et ont arbor\u00e9s ces livr\u00e9es diverses ;<\/li><li>La p\u00e9riode du d\u00e9but de la SNCF, depuis sa cr\u00e9ation jusqu&rsquo;au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 50. Les livr\u00e9es des autorails \u00e9taient rouge rubis et gris perle ;<\/li><li>Enfin \u00e0 partir du milieu des ann\u00e9es 50, les autorails sont rouge et cr\u00e8me (et \u00e9volueront ensuite au fil du temps).<\/li><\/ul><p>L\u00e0 aussi, il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un cadre g\u00e9n\u00e9ral pour lequel il est impossible de fixer des but\u00e9es pr\u00e9cises. Nous utiliserons de la voie SMP au code 75, une tr\u00e8s belle voie dont l&rsquo;aspect est proche de la voie r\u00e9elle. Cette voie a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s peu reproduite mais il existe aussi quelques <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cheminsdereves.fr\/index.php\/principaux-artisans-du-modelisme\/\"><strong>propositions Probablement existe-t-il des plans dans quelques archives mais nous ne les avons pas cherch\u00e9s pour autant qu&rsquo;ils soient accessibles (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.archives.sncf.com\/\"><strong>site des archives de la SNCF<\/strong><\/a>). Nous devrons nous contenter de la documentation en notre possession ou des quelques photos disponibles en cherchant sur la toile, rassembl\u00e9s par quelques passionn\u00e9s et \u00e9rudits locaux.<\/p><p>Cette belle photo du d\u00e9p\u00f4t de Carcassonne durant les ann\u00e9es 50 (Loco revue num\u00e9ro 465) nous montre 5 beaux X 5500, dont un \u00e0 peine visible au fond de la remise. Et possiblement une remorque Verney derri\u00e8re l&rsquo;autorail de gauche. Mais on y distingue aussi d&rsquo;autres informations. Remarquez <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cheminsdereves.fr\/index.php\/2025\/8649\/\">les sols pav\u00e9s<\/a><\/strong> par exemple entre les voies qui couvrent m\u00eame les traverses \u00e0 l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur des rails. Bel exercice \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser en mod\u00e9lisme&#8230; La remise \u00e0 deux voies est plut\u00f4t sommaire, presque de bric et de broc, avec une fa\u00e7ade avant et une toiture en t\u00f4le ondul\u00e9e. Il est ainsi possible de choisir une architecture plus ou moins norm\u00e9e, telle les petits d\u00e9p\u00f4ts de la compagnie du Midi (il faudrait investiguer n\u00e9anmoins de fa\u00e7on plus rigoureuse pour savoir si certains ont effectivement accueilli des autorails), les rotondes plus imposantes telle celle \u00e0 15 voies d&rsquo;Agen ou bien des b\u00e2timents plus originaux tels ceux de Carcassonne ou de Carmaux. Il reste n\u00e9anmoins \u00e0 voir ce qu&rsquo;il est possible d&rsquo;adapter dans notre plan initial. Un grande rotonde est bien entendu impossible \u00e0 envisager. L&rsquo;id\u00e9e d&rsquo;implanter une petite rotonde midi \u00e0 deux ou trois voies \u00e0 l&rsquo;architecture si caract\u00e9ristique est bien s\u00e9duisante, m\u00eame si nous avons quelques doutes sur le fait de savoir si certaines ont accueilli des autorails et que ces b\u00e2timents prennent un peu plus de place. Il est peut-\u00eatre possible d&rsquo;en installer une en bas sur le module droit \u00e0 la place du petit b\u00e2timent quitte \u00e0 faire le choix d&rsquo;un b\u00e2timent r\u00e9duit ou en demi relief. L&rsquo;id\u00e9e consistant \u00e0 affecter un c\u00f4t\u00e9 du projet \u00e0 des b\u00e2timents d&rsquo;origine Midi et l&rsquo;autre \u00e0 des b\u00e2timents d&rsquo;origine PO ouvre des perspectives particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ressantes. Cela donne de la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 et de la complexit\u00e9 au projet mais si votre projet vise \u00e0 simplement \u00e9voquer un lieu ou un moment de l&rsquo;histoire ferroviaire, le travail d&rsquo;\u00e9tude sera plus limit\u00e9.<\/p><p>Les sources pour effectuer ce type de recherches sont nombreuses : revues, livres, forums, sites internet ou blogs tenus pas des \u00e9rudits locaux. Nous avons aussi exp\u00e9riment\u00e9 avec profit les possibilit\u00e9s offertes par Google Earth et plus encore celle du site de l&rsquo;IGN qui regroupe des vues a\u00e9riennes depuis les ann\u00e9es 50. Il est ainsi possible de voir se d\u00e9rouler une partie de l&rsquo;histoire ferroviaire de ces derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies. Avec regret, on constate la destruction d&rsquo;installations embl\u00e9matiques telles la rotonde midi d&rsquo;Agen ou celle du PO \u00e0 Montauban. Mais on d\u00e9couvre aussi que d&rsquo;autres b\u00e2timents historiques ont surv\u00e9cu.
